Damon Cleary
Since graduating from the National Institute of the Arts in Canberra, Australia, Cleary has continued to explore the notion of Place and Displacement. He finds much of his inspiration from travelling and labours to observe more than that of a tourist. ‘Travelling results in a heightened awareness of our environment and situation, and in these places it is possible for the ‘run of the mill’ to appear exotic’. This is apparent within his current work of found objects and locations.
