Hazel Nicholls
Born in Northern Ireland, Hazel Nicholls came to London over six years ago to study at Camberwell School of Arts. Hazel loves Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton, the seaside, ten-pin bowling, charity shops, fuzzy felt and childhood toys. Her work is chiefly influenced by her longstanding love of cross stitch sewing and an interest in old phrases and sayings. Working alongside Rob Ryan, she learnt screen-printing from him three years ago and continues to experiment with the medium.
Hazel took part in a charity exhibition last year, alongside established artists such as Rob Ryan, Quentin Blake, and the Chapman Brothers. TAG is thrilled to be exhibiting Hazel’s work for the first time this year, in a fine art context.
