The handwriting in this work is that of Abraham Lincoln. The script is a rough draft of “The Gettysburg Address” which was given directly after the American Civil War...it speaks to the loss and destruction war causes for both sides along with the rebuilding and reuniting needed after the conflict. Balancing with the Japanese Samurai, The Samurai image is from a photograph taken in the late 1800’s. The Japanese were further advanced in photo equipment during that time than any of the cameras used in the States.
