Stephen Kenny

Stephen first fell for letterpress when he came across a collection of Victorian posters in the book of a retired printer in 2002. A few years later, he has a wood type collection, a studio of his own and works full time as a letterpress designer and printer. Working within a longstanding tradition and with old machines, he is continuously reminded of the medium’s history. Wood type that is damaged and worn takes on a life of its own, every mark and scratch makes each block and print entirely unique.
