The piece depicts alphabetically positioned countries of the world with skulls ‘dressed up’ in passport covers. It raises questions about ‘branded identity’ and ‘nationality by birth’ by representing all nations with their world passports contrasted with a symbolic common base – the human skull. This piece is part of Yanko’s newest series Branded World which is inspired by his long-standing interests in identity, belonging and social commentary.
