The tree is a reoccurring starting point for Kristjana, Icelandic nature is really harsh and unforgiving, it is very stark with lots of blacks, whites and greys. The colourful flora and fauna in other parts of the world is a great inspiration, and Kristjana enjoys playing with colours in her work, the colours in the natural elements bring a piece to life. Many international animals feature in this colourful tree alongside the two main hero English deer and a little fox.
