When the earliest English globe was made by Emery Molyneux in 1592, global circumnavigation had confirmed the Earth to be spherical, and it presented a vast opportunity for sea voyage, exploration and discovery.
This series celebrates our modern perspective, viewing the Earth from space. The frame maps satellites observing and monitoring our precious planet. The rim depicts those in geostationary equatorial orbit that provide instant communication, live worldwide television, and satnav.
