Martin Grover
Royal Academy graduate Martin Grover uses his everyday surroundings as a backdrop for tales of the banal and bizarre. Grover – who lives and works in Lambeth – often finds his inspiration on the London buses, marvelling at the shifting cityscape or listening in to snatches of conversations. In his work, he weaves these partial narratives together to create playful, anecdotal images. Grover’s screen-prints offer little paeans to iconic traffic signs, bus stops and buses. Their destinations are states of mind, often elusive, glimpsed but tantalisingly out of reach.
