Molly Martin
Molly Martin (b. 1991) is an artist working in painting, drawing, and printmaking, to explore human relationships and behaviours in all their complexities. Her works are playful and sincere, depicting colourful sketched figures swaddled and squashed within vague environments, such as settling down to sleep in a floating bundle of blankets, as in 'Bed Bugs'. Many of Martin's pieces explore feelings around power, insecurity, confusion, alienation, pressure, and regret, through poetic and often humourous imagery.
Molly Martin is represented by Rabley Gallery, and is a graduate of Falmouth University College of Art, BA Illustration, and City and Guids of London Artschool, MA Fine Art. Martin's paintings, drawings, and prints have been exhibited widely across the UK, and she is the author of 'The Art of Repair', a collection of texts exploring textile repair, published by Short Books, 2021.
