Carving New Worlds
Claire Brewster creates stunning, intricate and delicate paper cuts. She is inspired by old maps with the focus that they are able to transport you visually from your stationary place. Brewster's works are images of nature including animals and flora, as nature itself has the freedom to travel.
One of Brewster's commissioned works is based in the lounge lobby at the Corinthia Hotel in London; a flock of birds created from old maps of the city.
Brewster also has a solo exhibition 'A Conference of Birds', at the Diehl Gallery, Wyoming, USA, from 9th September - 31st October.
