Exclusive Launch of Yanko Tihov's London Passport Map
Yanko Tihov's incredible latest artwork, London Passport Map, has been constructed using the passports of various foreign passport holders residing in London, as documented in the latest census, and offers a fascinating snapshot of the wonderfully diverse nature of England's capital.
Yanko has discussed the inspiration that lies behind the work:
"My work charts a fascination with humanity’s constant movement over the surface of the planet, which despite our globalised world often involves perilous journeys due to the restrictions of an impersonal system of bureaucracy. I understand and identify with how imperative it is that creative people are able to travel to wherever they feel safe and nourished, as the vision of artists has the ability to break barriers and bring hope to the world.”
