Volta NY | Katsutoshi Yuasa | Armory Week
Volta NY | Thurs 6 March - Sun 9 March | 82 Mercer NY10012
This week sees the opening of the Seventh Edition of Volta NY. Coinciding with the city's annual Armory Show, the fair showcases solo projects from the most exciting contemporary artists. These include Katsutoshi Yuasa, who is exhibiting a selection of his stunning wood-cut prints with YUKI-SIS Gallery, Tokyo.
The display, titled 'Woodcut As A New Way Of Photography,' examines how Katsutoshi combines his own digital photographs with the traditional Japanese technique of woodcutting to create haunting images that fuse objective reality with the artist's subjective perception.
