The Oldland Isles is a series of four new map limited edition prints. Each map features images of a different denomination of the now withdrawn 1970’s D series set of banknotes. The maps juxtapose a sense of history with our current reality. They are visually styled in the language of antique maps, with an ornamental border and cartouche: by using historic notes they convey an idea of nostalgia and a past where our place in the world perhaps seemed more certain, yet the lettering with conflicting titles and directions to Somewhere or Nowhere place them very much in the present day.
