Neil Carroll
Carroll’s free, loose and expressive brush-stokes of everyday objects capture the essence of spontaneous painting. He captures all the elements such as touches of colour and highlights in one sitting, creating stunning small still life works with just enough detail to capture the viewers attention. Once the viewer recognises these small paintings they are drawn in to admire and appreciate the painterly quality of the paintings surface. One of Carroll's paintings was selected for the Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, in 2014. Since then, Carroll has been exploring and developing his own style. Carroll ever popular paintings have been exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally.
“I don't set out to paint what is in front of me, I try to create something with atmosphere and interest based on the subject. I remove as much detail as possible and paint as broadly as my mood allows”
